Happy Friday and welcome to the end of the work week! I am looking forward to the weekend (even though it will be crazy busy)! We have plans for company, (lots of) work, and family time. Even though this weekend will include more work than normal, the change of rhythm will be refreshing. We've been home almost the entire week due to sickness so I'm feeling a bit stir crazy! I can't wait for the change of pace that the weekend will bring.
I'm starting a new series here called Friday Faves. Many other bloggers do something similar and I always enjoy glancing through their favorites lists each week. I plan to share a few faves with you each week! Here goes week #1!
FRIDAY FAVES || FEBRUARY 2, 2018
Creamy Tuscan Garlic Tortellini Soup
My friend prepared this soup for us a couple months ago when we were over for dinner. It knocked my socks off so I immediately asked for the recipe. I finally made it this week and it's definitely finding it's way into my permanent recipe collection for sure! It's easy peasy and incredibly delicious!
Kale Salad with Lemon + Parm
THIS salad wins at life. If you know me, you know I'm not much of a salad person. I'm quite picky about my leafy greens and their texture + taste + toppings. It takes a lot to please me in the salad arena. But I'm sold on this one! A friend brought it over a couple weeks ago to go with the dinner we had prepared. I was a bit skeptical at first but I had eaten two huge plates by the end of the evening (if that says something). We've made it twice since and it's on the menu again this weekend. If you're hesitant about kale because of past, not-so-pleasant experiences with it, please give this salad a shot. I think you'll be hooked! I don't think I need to tell you about the benefits of eating kale, but here is a helpful read for you just in case.
I was recently listening to this podcast episode- hosted by two women who are on opposite sides of the crunchiness movement. It's a fascinating listen (as someone who has just in recent years started to appreciate more simple, natural, so-called "crunchy" products and methods). They were discussing natural ways to grow healthier hair. In their discussion, they mentioned collagen peptides. I'd heard of them in the past from a friend but never gave the product much thought. But as the podcast hosts explained the benefits of regularly using collagen peptides, my interest was piqued. They explained that not only does it promote healthy hair, but healthy SKIN. That's my pain point. I have struggled with acne for 12 years. Through trial and error I have figured out how to manage it the best I can. It's mostly hormone related so there isn't any point in working too hard to fix it when I'm in the middle of child-bearing years (which come with many hormonal fluctuations of course).
After learning some more about the benefits of collagen peptides, I decided to hop over to Amazon and purchase some! This is probably the most popular brand but I went with this brand because of the price point. I add it to smoothies! I have been using it most days for three weeks and have seen AMAZING results. My facial scars are fading, my skin tone is more even, and I my acne has been calm.

They're also a SUPER funny + entertaining bunch of hosts. I've linked to their blog - which is FULL of helpful articles and resources as well!
