Friday Faves are back! I'm going to continue this series through the end of March. I have another guest post coming at you in a couple weeks! All of these favorites came to my mind in a flash - so many good things this week! Enjoy!
If you have followed me for any length of time on social media you know I'm a huuuuge podcast fan and listen to them constantly! I listen to five episodes a day most weekdays. I do so while I'm getting ready, doing dishes, cooking, or driving. And this bluetooth speaker has revolutionized how I listen in the house. I used to just listen off of my phone's speaker, but now that I've used this speaker I'm never turning back! The sound quality is incredible and best of all, it's only $26! And of course it's great for playing music too!
Plant Therapy Oils
I started using essential oils about four or five years ago. I initially bought from the most well known oil company and stuck with them for several years. They became too expensive for our budget so I tried another reputable brand for a while. But just last week I received my first order from Plant Therapy and I'm really impressed with them! They are 100% pure (which is super important) but the price point is much better than the other companies I've used. We love to diffuse oils (they're pretty much going constantly in our house) and we use them topically (always diluted with a carrier oil). I got a set of seven single oils + seven blends - couldn't be happier with them!
Chicken Pot Pie Crumble
I think I've shared this chicken pot pie crumble recipe before on Facebook and Instagram but I wanted to throw it here in case any of you want to try it! A friend kindly brought it over after my miscarriage back in October and I've been obsessed with it ever since. It's easily the best pot pie I've eaten. It's made from scratch (even the topping is made from homemade drop biscuits) and takes a little time to put together but it is SO WORTH IT. My husband and I can almost gobble up the whole pan in one sitting! My hack to speed up the process is to use rotisserie chicken!
Spring + Summer Fashion
Over the last few weeks, I've been thinking about my spring + summer wardrobe! Though we still have a lot of snow in the forecast here, it's never too early to start thinking about the warm weather! I wrote a post earlier this week about my capsule-ish wardrobe and why I love it. I tried on a handful of pieces at Target the other evening and figured out better what I may want to purchase when the time comes! Here is my style board if you're interested in taking a look at what's inspiring me! I have found it very satisfying and simplifying to clearly define my own personal style, purposefully plan my wardrobe, and shop all at once for the season.
Taking a little time for myself each week used to be something I did more faithfully. I was recently reminded just how helpful it can be to me in this season of life while mothering a toddler. My toddler fills my life with joy, enthusiasm, and spark! But she also comes with a host of emotions that can drain me just a bit on some days. You moms know how nice it is to get a little mental breather once and a while! I've been taking an evening every other week to go out alone for a couple hours and leave dinner cleanup and the bedtime routine to my husband. He pushes me to make sure I get out even when I feel like there is a lot to do at home - he's so sweet! I love to go to Starbucks alone to journal or run some fun errands. This past week I went to Target, grabbed a chai, and tried on clothes for fun (because trying on clothes with a toddler in tow is definitely less than fun)!
