If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen me share this dress in my stories this week. I love choosing Easter clothes for the family each year but I always seem to have trouble finding a dress that I love and that fits me well. I'm kind of picky about how dresses fit my body (I have high hips + long legs so some dresses hit me in all the wrong places). This is where I envy short people - haha! I ordered one from Old Navy that ended up being a flop. I decided to try Target! I tried on this dress in store (then ordered the right size online). I could tell it was a well-made dress that suited my body type. I just got it in the mail this week and it's totally a winner! The fit is so good! I didn't get it on sale but I feel comfortable paying full price ($28) because I absolutely love it and know I'll wear it for a long time to come! It's definitely a "capsule-ish wardrobe" item. This week, Target's dresses are BOGO 50% off so maybe you can score a couple of finds!
Kodiak Flapjack + Waffle Mix
A couple Sundays ago, we did lunch at Costco (three cheers for their combo pizza slices) with friends and went ahead and knocked out a few items on our shopping list while we were there. Our friends pointed out the Kodiak Flapjack + Waffle Mix to me. I had been seeing it around for a while but didn't want to purchased until I'd heard a good review. My friend raved about it so I picked up a box. Costco sells the buttermilk version in a box that includes three, 24 oz. packages for $11 (way better deal than Target). We can't stop making them! You can just add water or you can add milk and then if you want more protein you can add an egg! Going the milk + egg route gives you 14g of protein per serving! They're seriously good and stick to the ribs!
Target Bins for Laundry Room
Shortly after we moved into our home, we put up shelving in our teeny tiny laundry room/bathroom combo to make space for our laundry supplies. It's taken me a while to find just what I want to organize the shelves - but I finally found these bins at Target last week! I've searched around for just the right size and shape and these fit the bill. I got three - one holds dirty kitchen towels + rags, one holds clean cleaning rags, and one holds paper towels. My shelf finally looks organized! I love how tall they are. And at $7.99 they're a steal!
IKEA Pillows + Covers
IKEA wins at pillows - such low prices and such good quality! I've always been super impressed! I recently picked up two new guest room pillows and I'm so happy with them. I knew I wanted black and white pillows for the bed. I found these striped covers (FIVE DOLLARS, Y'ALL) last week. I got these inserts to go with them (way better quality than their other options). One of my favorite parts about living in a big city is having IKEA really close (can I get an amen?!).
Rainy Weather + Blooming Trees
I never thought I'd say I enjoy rain after living in Oregon for so many years (where it literally rains all winter), but I am. It's different than the snow (which is awesome in manageable quantities) and a bit of a promise that spring is indeed on its way! Our snow fall came during the later end this season (most of it in January, February, and March) and now I'm totally ready for spring. I opened the blinds to our bedroom yesterday and noticed our trees are starting to bloom! The extended forecast is even predicting sun + 60 degrees on Easter (insert praise hands)!
"Is He Worthy" - New Release by Andrew Peterson
Andrew Peterson's new release has been shared and re-shared all over social media this past week and I cannot stop listening! Andrew Peterson has been a long time favorite of ours. My brother has designed many of his album covers over the years and is a close personal friend. If you haven't heard his music before, search for him on Spotify or visit his site here. He beautifully tells stories through his music. Kya's favorite of his is this Slugs + Bugs album - super fun for riding in the car!
