A friend shared Dear Mushka’s Instagram account with me a couple years ago and I immediately fell in LOVE! Katie Lewis began her jewelry company, Dear Mushka, in 2013 as a fundraiser for their first adoption. It has since grown into a full-blown business that both she and her husband work at full-time. They’ve also adopted two more children since DM began! You can read their beautiful story here.
I purchased my first DM necklace the week after I miscarried a baby in October of 2017. My mom sent me a little bit of spending money to ease my burden during that season. Right away, I knew exactly what I wanted to buy. I wanted a piece of jewelry to remember my lost baby by but more importantly to remind me of truth during the aftermath of our miscarriage.
I came across the Aid Necklace and bought it without hesitation! Each of DM’s pieces come with a verse card to be a reminder of truth as you wear the jewelry. My necklace came with Psalm 147:3 - “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” I wore that piece 24/7 from the time of my miscarriage in the fall of 2017 until after my rainbow baby was born this March. It was a constant reminder of God’s goodness to heal my heart!
Dear Mushka carries a wide variety of meaningful jewelry - necklaces, bracelets, and earrings - as well as Scripture prints and apparel. A couple of her prints are going in our baby’s nursery!
I encourage you to sit down and look through DM’s website! You might just find the perfect Mother’s Day gift - something for yourself, your own mom, your mother-in-law, a sister, or a friend. These pieces would also make wonderful gifts for those in your life who may be struggling with infertility or loss - Mother’s Day can be a very difficult holiday for some. I remember those years when it was a particularly challenging day for me.
